Fun with Archives...
So, I have to say, this long term archive project has been a really fun thing to do lately. I’ve been spending the last month or so going through a bunch of video footage for a project for a few friends of mine. I’ve been going through all the tapes and “extracting” the original songs that were on these vids to compile them into a DVD of sorts. It’s been cool to see and hear all this really cool music that I’ve been involved with over the last (holy S***) 20+ years! Watching the videos, I was transported right back to when things were filmed, and in some cases really surprised at what footage I actually had! Especially the Inkognito footage I have to say. I put a lot of myself into that band and it is cool to see how much of a killer band I was able to be in with Mike and Rich. It was fun seeing us with Chip on vocals too. As far as other lineups of that band, there is no footage of us from before Rich joined, and there is a video of our 1996 show, but neither Rich or I can find the tape. The very last Inkognito show in 1998 was also filmed, but I don’t have that footage, and I have lost contact with Larry, the guitar player from that last lineup, and he was the one with the video. Too bad...
The Citizen Bane footage is cool, especially since it’s the only show that that band did. As far as I know, there is no footage of Stone Monkey or Mr. Sinister. There is some more Train Of Thought/Force Three stuff, but Fred has that and hopefully it’ll find it’s way onto the Facebook page for the band here soon. I’m working on him to get it up there, he has to see what he’s got. There is some Southern Drawl/Swamp Drive stuff, but more pics than video. I’m still kicking myself for not having anyone film the show the day we released the album, as it was the only time we played a lot of songs off that album. That whole SD situation is another rant all it’s own for another day, but anyway...
Very pleased that I have at least one of the acoustic shows that I did several years back too! Sadly, there isn’t any video of the performances that I’ve done with Deb Desilets. Hopefully that will change at some point. I’ll be posting a lot of what I have here, and I hope you get as much of a kick out of it as I do.
It’s nice to look back and see where I’ve been, it gives me the extra drive to keep moving forward, this trip ain’t nowhere near over. I’ve decided that I’m going to keep all aspects of my music moving, and not let one project get in the way of others. It’s gonna be a fun ride from here on out, lots of music is gonna be coming...
