Things have been fairly busy here, as you can see by the lack of updates! Let me get y'all caught up with what I've been doing.
The main thing has been work for my "day job" band. Every spring I compose songs for the band to play at their spring concert, and this year I'm planning on having 6 songs for them to work on and play. As of today, I have 4 of them completed and the 5th one in progress. The first one took a while, but so far I've been managing to get the other ones done in a fairly quick turnaround. I finally got a new version of Finale as well, so I'm now able to input the songs into the computer to edit and print parts. The band got the first song last week, and we start working on it full on this coming week. I'm hoping to have the 5th song finished up this week, and at least 2 of the finished ones in the computer and printed out by the end of this week. My goal is to have all 6 songs finished and on the stands by spring break, so I have about 4 weeks I think...Let's see if I can make that goal...
DIRK DIGGLER:
Diggler had a fun first show of 2016 with a CRAZY show at Cafe 27 on Valentines Day. Lots of fun, lots of mayhem and lots of happy faces. We are working in some new songs, and they are sounding pretty cool, and the ones that we tried on the 14th went over great. We will be back at Cafe 27 on March 17, for a St. Patrick's Day Party...wear green and be ready to deny everything the next day! We also have a tentative date there for May 1 as well. People have been asking us when we'll be back playing down in Dade county, and I can tell you that we're working on getting some dates down there...keep looking, I'll post them as soon as I have them!
TRIAD:
Triad got a surprise show on New Year's Eve at the Hurricane Bar and Grill that went really well, and then did our first official show of 2016 on January 8 at the Mutineer, which was a blast. We then made our return to Cafe 27 on February 13, and we had a bit of a "Spinal Tap" show there! Scott was playing so hot he fried something in his amp! Smoke coming out of the amp and everything! Thankfully we were able to finish off the show, and had a good time as did the audience. Thanks to all of ya who came out to the shows! Triad has a few weeks off, and we're also in the early stages of revamping our setlist as well. As soon as we have show dates I'll have them posted here. I'm going to upload here some videos of Triad doing some songs here in the next few days, so keep on the lookout for that!
SOLO AND STUDIO PROJECTS:
Not a whole lot to report on here, as my time is being spent working on the "day job" pieces. I'm pretty sure that I have finally have almost all the upgrades for the studio that I need, so I know there will be some recording happening here sooner than later, that's for sure. I started doing some serious guitar noodling aka fishing for cool riffs, and I have a few little ideas, as well as some little fragments of lyrics, so I know that I'll be firing up the new studio setup here sooner rather than later...maybe around spring break??
That just about covers everything at this point, so I'm going to go and start inputting one of the "day job" songs into the computer...
That is all...TB
