The Dirk Diggler show at Cagney's went really well! Pretty good size crowd, and the majority of them stayed for most of the show on top of that. It was also our keyboard player Dave's birthday, which made for a fun night as well. We set him up right at center stage, and really tried to feature him on a lot of songs. I was dealing with a cough (that is finally starting to go away), so I have to say that my vocals weren't totally 100%, but I was able to sing most of my parts thankfully. We're waiting to see/hear if we are going to get a return date there in the near future. In the meantime, we have another new venue that we're going to be debuting at in September. On September 25, we are going to be playing an afternoon show at Flossies in Ft. Lauderdale! So, for those keeping score, the next 4 Dirk Diggler shows are August 4 at Cafe 27, August 6 at Little Hoolies, September 18 at Cafe 27, and September 25 at Flossies! More shows I'm sure are going to follow I'm sure...
No news on the Triad front...at the moment...guess you could say we're on hiatus...
In my studio, I'm in the process of recording drum tracks for the 20 or so songs that I've been stockpiling, I'm hoping to have the drums finished up by the weekend, and then get into doing bass and guitar parts to the songs. I switched recording platforms from ProTools to Logic, and so far I'm really liking the new setup. Had to tell how the songs are sounding yet, I can say a few of the songs that I wasn't sure of sound a lot better with drum parts, so that's a good sign!
SO, last Sunday I was going through my Facebook and lo and behold, Little Hoolies is starting up Open Mic again, but now on Mondays. I decided to go and see what was going on, The new house band is basically the group that was there before I was there, and it went pretty good I guess. A little jealous I wasn't part of the house band, but I ended up onstage still. We'll see how it goes, if anything it's a good thing that it's back.
That is all...TB
