First off, by back finally got back to normal, and it's nice to be able to move around and not be in pain again.
Huge news...if you saw on the home page here, I have signed up with Distrokid, and I am in the process of getting all my solo projects available on various music pages for streaming and purchase FINALLY!! I'm going to be putting them out in backwards release order, starting with my most recent EP, which is called "15 Minutes." If you've been reading these blog entries going back to the old website, you may know that I have a TON of music to get out. I figured there are basically 28 "solo" albums, so it's going to take a while to get them all up. I think I'm going to do them in small groups over the rest of the year at this point. I'm still not 100% sure what took me so long to do it, maybe nerves? But anyway, the important thing is that I'm finally making it happen. If you're looking for a way to get your music to streaming sites, I have to say Distrokid is an easy and quick way to do it, plus you keep all your royalties. There was my plug for Distrokid! I'll be adding their website to the links page here today.
The acoustic show at the Alper JCC was a success! Not a huge crowd, but everyone there really enjoyed the show, and I was super humbled that they paid good money to come see me play. I didn't end up doing all the songs I had ready due to time, but the show went really smoothly, and I managed to not have any major mistakes/train wrecks, so I'll call that a success! Not sure when the next solo acoustic show will be, but you know I'll let you know. I also filmed the show, so once I have a chance to sit with the footage, I'll have some video here and on my Youtube channel. I do have an acoustic show with Electric Mayhem's Daisy on June 19 at Ocean Reef Club in Key Largo and that will be a good time for sure.
Electric Mayhem is rehearsing for our next show which is going to be at Hog Heaven on June 4. Our keyboard player is taking a couple months off, so we'll have a fill in performer for likely the summer shows. Once that is all confirmed I'll let you know who's jamming with us. Ideas for new songs are coming fast and furious, and I think the new set list is going to be a lot of fun for the band and the audience.
Reckless Kind returned to live action this last Saturday at Eddie's Place in Miami. It was a "pre birthday bash" for our singer Louie, and it was a hot night for sure. Our regular drummer Tony wasn't able to play, so our good friend Eddie G came and sat in with us. Dave from Limerock also stopped by to check out the show. He said we were a fun band to watch. Reckless has a couple shows this weekend at JD's Lounge and Sandbar on Friday and Saturday, so if you can come and celebrate Louie's birthday with us!
In Limerock news, it looks like we have the month of June off, and since we're breaking Scott (Reckless Kind's guitar player) into the band, that's not a bad thing. I'm hoping we have a few rehearsals to really get things tight. Our next show (that I know of LOL!) is on July 17 at Cafe 27. If all goes well, we should be going in there all guns blazing!
Just a few weeks left of the "day job" for the year, and then my camp gig will ramp up, as well as me starting on a new solo album, that I hope to finish up by September. I have a title, and a rough idea of what I want to do, as well as a few riffs/partial arrangements. As always, if I can get it to should like what I hear in my head, it's gonna be pretty awesome, likely a little heavier than the songs on "15 Minutes" are. I'm also going to put a "Discography" page up here with all the albums as I start to get them up on streaming sties, so stay tuned for that!
Big things, and long overdue things happening!
THAT IS ALL...TB
