Last week, on top of doing the usual Little Hoolies open mic gig, I was asked to fill in for the drummer in Limerock up at J.P. Mulligans. I hadn't played drums with them in a year, and I have to say that I did pretty well, considering. Ended up having a good time, and I will likely be filling in with them on some more shows. On a side note, get well Louie! Eli Cash played a show last night up at World of Beer Coconut Creek. It was the first time we had played up there in several months, and I have to say that the audience reaction and the sound onstage there was a lot better, so I ended up having a good time. It was also cool in that one of my cousins that I haven't seen in a few years happened to be in Florida on vacation, and they were able to come check out the show. That made for a real fun night. The next shows that I know of outside of open mic is Dirk Diggler has a show at Cafe 27 on August 10, and I'll be filling in with Stalking Mildred this Friday August 1 at Little Hoolies. I'm hoping that a few more shows come up before then as well…
The new trio has been in rehearsals for the last several weeks, and things are starting to sound pretty good. So far the covers are a pretty cool mix of stuff, and we're hoping to have a "catalog" of covers that will basically allow us to not play the same show every gig, which I think will be really cool. Now, if we could only come up with a name…we've already likely submitted and rejected at least 40 name ideas…
It's been quiet in the studio the last couple weeks, but I'm planning on getting some work done on the latest batch of "solo" songs that I have laying around, as well as working on the other ongoing projects that I have as well.
That is all…TB
