Dirk Diggler's 100th show was an absolute party! Big crowd that stayed for 99% of the night, everyone dancing and singing along (loudly I may add!) and a good time was had by all. We played around with the standard setlist moving things around to keep people guessing as what we were going to do, and we also debuted our new "baseball team" look. To celebrate the milestone, I had baseball jerseys made for the 5 of us to wear for the show. Looks like they are going to be our standard getups for shows now! Waiting to hear what our October schedule is going to be, as our Hoolies date is in question at the moment. As soon as it's settled I'll be spreading the word. We're also looking into some more new songs to keep mixing things up as well.
Had a long and awesome conversation with Mike from Incognito. It looks like we may be trying to get together in November to do some recording. The plan is to do a short (3-4 song) EP, and then work on a full length release in the new year. We have one song that is "ready to go," and a few ideas floating around in various stages of completion. As we work towards that I'm going to be revisiting some songs that we demoed a few years ago, as well as compiling lyric ideas and phrases in case we have to write in the studio as we're recording! Again, I can't tell you how excited I am at the idea of working with Mike and Rich again!
The solo album is moving along slowly, but now with the prospect of an Illinois trip to record on the horizon, I am going to push myself to finish up the album before I go up there so I'm fresh creatively. All the arrangements are finished, and now all that I have to do is record the parts. The last 2 songs that were giving me fits are done, so now it's all down to me getting to work on them.
Gonna add a "'Nito Studio Log" this week to the site here to show and keep tabs on the progress of the new recordings for you to see...
Have a couple ofter things in the works as well...
for now...
THAT IS ALL...TB
