Triad had it's first 2 shows this past week. The first one was at Little Hoolies, as we came out to audition for some dates there. The other guys that I do open mic with were really cool to the band, and we even got to go on first when things got started. We did one hour long set, and I have to say that we played pretty good, and we got a really good response from the people that were there…if you were there, THANKS! More importantly, the guy that books shows at Hoolies liked us! We're hoping that we'll have some dates at Little Hoolies in the new year, as they are already booked up for the rest of this year. The second show that we did was at a private party out in the Redlands. Interesting vibe, but it was good for us as we had our full compliment of equipment that we'll be using at our shows. Scott had his PA, I had my "Rig Of Doom" setup, and Mario was playing on his own kit as well. We pretty much used the show as a "shakedown" gig to make sure that everything worked the way it was supposed to. I ended up having a "gremlin" attack in my pedal board that was so nutty I had to disconnect from the setup and just run straight into my amp for half of the show. Ended up taking my board into Guitar Center to have their tech help troubleshoot it to find out what happened. They gave me a couple options to fix it, and I'm happy to say that I think I was able to get the issue resolved. I brought the rig to the "day job" today and gave it a good workout and it appears that I may have finally got rid of that particular gremlin! Next thing up for Triad is I can announce that we'll be playing at the Mutineer on Saturday February 7! In the meantime we'll be continuing to rehearse and fine tune our show in preparation…it's gonna be killer…
In Dirk Diggler land, we'll be heading out to Cafe 27 this Sunday starting at 1, hope to see you there!
